CALCULATIONS
Explore tools for planning and evaluating key outdoor parameters.
Calculate compass bearings with magnetic correction, assess wind force on tents, and estimate energy
expenditure for hiking using the SET model. Each tool is designed to support informed decision-making in the field.
Bearing between WPs

Calculates the course between two waypoints, and calculates corrected compass course based on the magnetic declination at the first waypoint.
Wind impact on tent

Calculates the wind impact on your tent based on wind speed and tent specifications. It estimates the total force applied to the tent and determines whether the structure is likely to withstand the conditions. The calculation does not account for anchoring methods, terrain effects, or material fatigue over time.
SET-energy

Calculates energy expenditure for a hiking segment using the SET model (Standard Energy for Test Distance). Takes into account body weight, carried load, terrain slope (uphill, flat, downhill), friction, walking speed, and optional pulk (sled) pulling. Returns total energy cost in kilocalories.
